BROTHERS KEEPER UNIT (BKU)

The congregation is divided into three groups with 2 elders leading each unit.   These units meet periodically after worship service for a meal and fellowship.  These units provide help for members in their group such as meals in time of illness or funerals, help for elderly in the group such as transportation, household chores, and other needs that may arise for members of the unit.

VISITATION

Visitation is held the first Monday of each month by the deacons.  All are invited to attend.   Meeting at the church at 6:30, visitation contacts are assigned and confirmed.  Mike Sanders coordinates this program.

 GOSPEL MEETING

New Road has at least one Gospel Meeting a year with an outside speaker selected.

BENEVOLENCE-THE PANTRY

The New Road congregation has an active benevolence program.  Within this program, we have a very well stocked pantry which is available to all members of the congregation.  Assistance is also available to any others who may be in need of .

MONDAY/FRIDAY EXERCISE

The Monday/Friday morning exercise classes are available for men and women weekly from 9:00 to 10:00 in the fellowship hall.  Jean Behringer leads the class on Mondays; Marilyn LaStrape leads the class on Fridays.  These classes are low impact with basic movements.  Anyone that attends is encouraged to do only what they are physically capable of doing.  Paul did say “bodily exercise profits a little”, and these classes are in pursuit of that “little”!
